Celtic Frost Becomes Officially Terminated

Triptykon/ex-Celtic Frost mainman Tom Fischer has posted the following message online:

"The intense rain outside continues unabated, and, far in the distance, the torn, grey clouds merge with the earth, obscuring any hint of a horizon. A fitting scenery to a final act of ignominy. I attended seven and a half funereal hours of meetings yesterday, initially with Celtic Frost/Triptykon manager Antje Lange, then including Martin Eric Ain and Celtic Frost's accountant, to discuss in detail the dissolution of most of Celtic Frost's business arrangements and the distribution of the group's remaining assets. What an infinitely doleful and emotionally draining undertaking, and one I did not ever wish to witness. And yet one that was probably unavoidable."

Fischer initially left the group in April of this year citing internal conflict as the reason and taking all music he had been writing for Celtic Frost with him to use in his new band, Triptykon which also features original Celtic Frost drummer Reed St. Mark and Dark Fortress/ex-Celtic Frost touring guitarist V Santura.

Dark Funeral Prepares To Enter The Studio

Guitarist Lord Ahriman has issued the following update on behalf of Swedish black metallers DARK FUNERAL:

"Ave everyone!

"So, finally it's time....

"On Monday, August 18th, Chaq Mol (guitars) and I will enter the studio together with producer Örjan Örnkloo (MISERY LOVES CO.) to begin the songwriting process of a new, yet untitled full-length album.

"Exactly how long it will take is hard to say, but we hope to be done with a pre-production within the next 3 - 4 weeks. We already have quite some material written so I feel that we are as pre-prepared as we can be at this stage.

"We will only work in the studio during the weekdays. So every weekend when we're home we'll post a studio report to keep you updated.

"Anyway, time to get busy. Talk to you in about a week again.

"Lord Ahriman & Dark Funeral."

Agathocles Bassist Tony Passes Away

This past weekend Agathocles' bassist Tony passed away. "It's a tragedy, especially when this happens to someone so young," states the band's label Displeased Records on their site. No further details about his death is currently available.

Earlier this summer, the Belgian grinders finished up recording their new full length to be issued through Displeased Records. Named "Grind is protest," the album is expected in the winter of 2008/2009.

Municipal Waste To Reunite Original Lineup

Municipal Waste have posted the following update via Myspace:

"In the Waste 'Em All years, Municipal Waste developed a reputation that they are still living up to today. It was due to the early, insane live performances that set the bar for what people expect to see at a Waste show. Wind swept circle pits, 69 stage dives, wacky costumes, and pizza shark boogie bongs still show up whether the band plans it or not. Maybe it was just the off stage antics, excessive drinking, or the tendency to eat all the food out of an unsuspecting victim's fridge that sent the message that was (and still is) very clear: Municipal Waste is gonna fuck you up!

"Now you can't rewrite history, but you can relive it on Friday, August 15th 2008 at Alley Katz in Richmond, VA. The Waste will be reuniting the Waste 'Em All lineup for one show as part of the 7th annual Best Friends Day Weekend. The lineup, which includes Brandon Ferrell on drums, Andy Harris on bass, Tony Foresta on vocals, and Ryan Waste on guitar, will be playing the Waste 'Em All album in it's entirety along with some other classic cuts.

"This show is a must see for any true fan of live music! The other acts of the night include: PAINT IT BLACK, QUADILIACHA, CAUSTIC CHRIST, BRUTAL KNIGHTS, and RELIGIOUS AS FUCK. The show starts at 7pm @ Alley Katz (10 Walnut Alley) and costs $10. Come out and support The Waste and Best Friends Day 7!"

Cattle Decapitation Enters The Studio

Cattle Decapitation have posted the following message online last week:

“We enter Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA tomorrow to start working on our fourth Metal Blade full-length! We’ll be doing the drums with the mighty Zach Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH) and then over to Sharkbite studios to record the rest and mix with our man Billy Anderson. This is going to be devastating, we promise. The new material is over the top. The lyrics as hateful as ‘Karma.Bloody.Karma’ but much more disgusting this time around.

"We’ll be announcing the name of the album, song titles and cover art when we have completed the recording! Details on that, studio reports and fly-on-the-wall footage in the studio coming soon!”

Obituary Vocalist Checks In

Obituary vocalist John Tardy has posted the following road report online:

"This year's Wacken festival in Germany was unbelievable. We really had a good time and appreciate all the fans support. I think the Wacken crew all did a great job and we thank them for inviting us to this year's event! It was a sold out weekend, somewhere around 80,000 people!!!!

"We played in Finland the night before and it was one of those...off stage at 2:00AM, lobby call at 4:00AM, flights at 6:00AM and on stage at Wacken 4:00PM...and they lost our luggage so Frank [Watkins; bass] and I had to go on stage in the only clothes we had...awesome! At least all the equipment showed up or we really would have been fucked! The show in Finland was great, sold out and sick! Thanks to all of you that came out to see us!

"We now have a few days off that we are spending in Hamburg, Germany before we take off to Copenhagen, Denmark for the next show. At least we don't have to fly. Actually we are done flying until we head back home. Only two shows left so I hope you can make one of them and remember we will have the new 'Left To Die' EP with us!"

Metal Church Forced To Cancel Tour Dates

METAL CHURCH have posted this announcement on their official website:

"We are forced to cancel some of the upcoming dates (August 14 and 16). It kills us to have to do this. We have tried everything possible to make this work, but because of logistics and screw ups out of our control our hands have been forced. We are pissed off and very disappointed. It is too bad bullshit has to get in the way of us doing what we love.

"We were looking forward to hitting the road and playing with JUDAS PRIEST and sharing some of the new album with all of you, but it is not going to happen at this time. We will still do the Florida show and the Puerto Rico show with QUEENSRŸCHE in August.

Kult Ov Azazel Delays New Album

Florida black metallers, Kult Ov Azazel, have issued the following update:

"We were originally asked and prepared to do the Horna tour that many have been emailing about. There have been numerous bulletins and news sources on the internet stating we are on the tour. However, this is not the case."

"We had to reschedule our studio time from August to October. We are now entering Mana Studio in Tampa, FL to record the next album titled Destroying the Sacred from October 28 thru November 11."

"This not only put an end to us doing the Horna tour but also a few one offs that we had been offered. Rest assure, once the new album is recorded we will turn our focus to touring/regional shows and destroying all with force!"
