Mortifer Interview

This is the interview with this legend from Rusia, Mortifer!!!

1.- Looking back in time how was the Russian scene
compared to this times?
-Well in that time there were not so many bands playing heavy metal, and the metal itself was not so commercial as it is now. Metal was pure and free from any influences what I personally value in the old bands.
There were no small clubs back then in Russia and the performances usually took place in venues of 700-1000 seats. Each show was a great event. Now it's all way much more simply. There are lots of small clubs and the shows have turned into something ordinary and conventional.
On the other hand more of the up-to-date equipment for the shows became available. Playing technique and performance quality grew up significantly.

2.- How did you get to collect all the music that
inspired you when the communism was established in your
country?
-In Soviet Union it was not a problem to find a particular western band. We were making copies from vinyls to tape cassettes, sometimes purchased the vinyls, thou' it was quite expensive.

3.- Tell us about the risk or the problems that you
have with police when you play Alice Cooper and AC/DC
covers?
-There were no particular problems, of course, but in general singing in English was risky. We played all kinds of covers of even not "very heavy" western bands and sometimes people in uniform approached us and ordered to stop. Otherwise they could just cease the show. But there were no serious problems as such. With beginning of Perestroika (reformation) it disappeared entirely.


4.- Was it difficult to find a record label to record
your first LP Euthanasia?
-I don't think it was more difficult than in any other country. We just sent our demo and in 2-3 weeks received our first record deal offer. By that time we were somewhat famous as we played a lot and participated in a fest in Moscow in 1991. There were a few articles in the fanzines. On the other hand there were not so many bands playing similar music on the decent level in that time.

5.- Due to the repression that you were living at that
time, did bands were very united?
-I think you have incorrect information about our country. Yes, there were certain prohibitions up to 1986, but after the Reformation everything cooled out, and full freedom of music revealed. Other bands were inviting us in their towns for joint shows, and we did the same in our turn. It happens to the present day. But there are no repressions anymore for a long time.

6.- Why did you wait 7 years to release your second
album If Tomorrow Comes?
-Simply because thrash metal became less popular by that time, the same as for the whole world, and the record label turned us down. The second LP we recorded was "Blind Faith", but it never appeared on a vinyl. That's why we took time for composing material for the 3rd album. When we had material ready for "If Tomottow Comes" we could not release it until 1999 and again received an offer to release it on a CD. In 2001 we re-recorded "Blind Faith" and it was released in 2002.

7.- How was the experience playing with Sodom and
Pungent Stench?
-It's always great to play with famous bands. It leaves a lot of pleasant flashbacks for the rest of our lives.

8.- Did you went to see the great masters of metal
Pantera when they play at Moscow?
-Yes, I attended that show in Tushino venue. Pantera was the first to come out and play, but they were almost unknown in Russia. They, of course, played it wicked, though they had rather nasty sound.

9.- Did your lyrics reflect the history and social
struggles of your country?
-Sometimes the lyrics indeed reflect the history and tragedies of our country, but mostly our lyrics are generalized. All too often it is about inner life of humans, about negative stuff happening in our lives.

10.- Have you ever think about to change your sound
like other bands due to get more audience?
-We are of not much of alternative to change our sound. We know how we should sound and we're satisfied with our albums sound. I think it reflects quite well the core and the mood of our songs. After all we never gonna change our sound for the sake of fashion flow.

11.- To end this interview, do you have anything to
say?
-We'd like to thank you for the interest to Mortifer and wish you all the best. Thanks. Thrash will never die!!

Suicidal Angels Interview

This is the Interview with greek thrashers Suicidal Angels.

1.- Metallic greetings guys, how are you? Talk to us a little about your style, your musical and lyrical influences?
-Hello there, this is Sotiris. We’re doing great, thanks. Well, the musical style that Suicidal Angels follow is quite simple: pure old-school thrash metal; nothing more, nothing less. Our lyrics have to do with the straight opposition against any kind of organized religion. We aim mainly against Christianity because that’s the dominant religion in our country, Greece, and we’ve seen with our own eyes the way that it affects the masses.

2. - Back in the day, how was the experience since your first demo to this album “Eternal Domination”?
-A band that starts from point zero trying to achieve a goal, like we did, feels great satisfaction when its first full-length album comes out. For us it’s something like the rewarding of our work: endless hours of rehearsing and continuous efforts so as to promote Suicidal Angels. Everyone in the band is very proud of what we have achieved until now.

3. - How is the relation with OSM Records, do you feel good with them? I mean you had an independent distribution before OSM Records.
-The independent distribution that you’re talking about was for our previous EP “Armies of Hell” and it was only for Greece. About OSM now, we are extremely satisfied from the cooperation between us! I mean, we couldn’t have imagined better treatment than that. They support us in every step that we’re trying to do as a band, whether that support is financial or it has to do with booking some concerts, promotion through magazines, webzines etc. They show a lot of interest in us, and we are very grateful about that.

4. - Tell us about the experience in the “Thrash ‘Till Death Festival” and “Malbork Metal Days Festival”?
-Certainly, for a band that is still in the beginning, participation in such festivals is a great source of experience. At both festivals we heard a lot of positive comments, which encouraged us to continue our efforts. We gained a lot of experience, especially at “Thrash ‘Till Death” festival, where we co-operated with Harris Johns (producer of Kreator, Sodom etc.). His advice was really helpful for us.

5. - How was the relation backstage with bands like Tankard, Anvil, Behemoth and Kreator?
-Undoubtedly, it’s a great experience to meet and discuss with bands such as the ones mentioned above. Until now, everyone has treated us in a very professional manner, especially Mille Petrozza, who appeared on-stage with a Suicidal Angels t-shirt, and guys from Celtic Frost, who told us a lot of positive comments about our support performance to them.

6. - Now how is the Extreme Music scene in Greece?
-The Greek scene has many considerable bands to offer, bands that have nothing to envy from non-Greek bands of the same style. The best example is Rotting Christ, which has been and still is a major influence for many bands worldwide, for about 20 years now.

7. - In your own words describe Thrash Metal.
-Hmm… thrash metal is something very hard to be described in words… Thrash metal is something that we love since we started listening to “extreme” music, but it became a huge part of our lives since we formed the band. Thrash metal and the memories that we earn from the band everyday for sure will be in our minds for the rest of our lives.

8. - Where have you seen the most crazy metalheads?
-Well, until now the audience reactions have been positive, wherever we have played… If I have to choose the best audience, that would be metalheads in Bucharest and also metalheads in Sofia, where, especially at the concert with Behemoth, they made us feel like home. Unbelievable reactions, for sure we didn’t expect something like that!

9. - Who contact you for the tour with Onslaught and Carnal Forge?
-Well, last January, approximately one year before, we performed as a support band to Onslaught at their show here in Athens. Since then, we kept in touch with them and it seemed that they liked our music, so they requested their booking agency to include us in the “European Assault” tour, which is a great honour for us. We really appreciate what the guys did for us.

10. - Maybe can you tell us if “European Assault” comes to Mexico?
I’m sorry but, as you can understand from the name of the tour, “European Assault” has to do with European shows only. We’d love to visit Mexico; we’ve heard a lot of great things about the old-school metallers there, mainly through the Internet (various webzines, MySpace etc.). But don’t worry, our future plans go further than the European borders, so hopefully one day we’ll perform not only in Mexico, but also in other American countries.

11. - Which one was the best, "Theogonia Balkan Tour 2007" or "The Reanimated"?
-Hmm… that’s a very difficult question… In both tours we had a great time, our tourmates were in both occasions very nice and friendly people… I’m sorry, but I can’t name one tour better than the other. In both tours we gained a lot of experience by performing every day and also watching the headliners (Rotting Christ at “Theogonia Balkan” tour and Massacre at “The Reanimated” tour) perform. One more thing that we’ve learned while touring is how to live together with an average of 20-25 more people in such small place like a tour bus, which isn’t as easy as it sounds. Fortunately, in our first tour, in which we were totally inexperienced, most of our tourmates were Greeks, so we had no communication problems.

12. - For last, anything to say?

Destinity Interview

This is the interview with this really killer band from France, they are DESTINITY!

DESTINITY INTERVIEW with MICK (vocals)

1.- How are you guys ? This question is escential, talk to us a little about Destinity, how was the formation?
-Mick (vocals) : Everything is ok for us at this day ! We are just waiting the release of the new album "THE INSIDE" for February 2008 and we are glad to join our european tour with DEW-SCENTED and SEVERE TORTURE.
About the band... it was created in 1996 by ZEPHIROS (Guitar), MORTEÜS (Drums and Keyboards) and Me.
We had many different line-up during all these years and we recorded 4 full lenghts albums and 1 DVD to celebrate 10 years of activities last year.
At the begining we were much more in a black/death metal way to finish with an extreme metal with a lot of thrash metal influences.

2.- In the period of 1996 to 1998 you have some changes in the lineup, this was to create a better and brutal music?
-Yes you are right and these persons wasn't so motivate than us ! So we had to take good decisions ! héhé.

3.- Do you remember how was play in local clubs, i mean the people was agressive, pacific, how was in that days?
-Since the begining we have a killer audience with all concerts so we are really lucky. For sure today it is really different because we are much more famous and so there is much more persons on the pit. It is really cool !

4.- The year 2000… Recorded your demo with Psychic Scream Entertainment, and you have some important gigs, do you learn some for that bands in that time?
-We can say it was the first professionnal year for the band because we support famous bands like Cradle of filth and more... and you learn a lot on the road !

5.- Your debut album “Under The Smell of Chaos”, maybe this is one of the most important moment in your career, how was the feeling about the debut album ? When you saw the album in the stores and the fans go fast to buy it!
-Yes it is good memories even if I think it is a really bad album ! héhé. This first album has enabled us to intensify the number of concerts and perform many interviews around the world. Nothing more for me.

6.- Damn!!! I saw your biography and it..s amazing the gigs that you had, tell me a litlle about this Fucking Masters of Death Metal Immolation ?
-Yes ! I think we supported them 2 times on stage ! It is an incredible band and they are really nice guys.
A very good memory.

7.- Now who are your more important influences ? i listen in your influences some Carcass, Dismember, Immolation (of course), Hypocrisy, Loudblast, Massacra…
-I think our inspiration is from the sweedish scene but you are right ! some of these bands you announced are some influences for us and we listen them.

8.- How is the French extreme music scene?
-With a band like GOJIRA everybody speak about french bands today but we have a killer scene since many years !
It is excellent to be respected today and it is really excellent for GOJIRA and all other french bands but I hope it will be not a fuckin' fad in a near future.
My favorite french killer bands are : BENIGHTED, KRONOS, NO RETURN, YYRKOON, GOJIRA, DAGOBA and more... and MASSACRA of course (RIP).

9.- In Excelsis Dementia it..s a great album, how do you inspired to wrote this album, i mean lyrics and music.
-At this period we were in a black/death metal way.
If you like all extreme kind of music ! listen this album.

10.- Synthetic Existente it..s your best album?
-It is an excellent album but I prefer the last one called THE INSIDE. It was the first time we recorded at HANSEN STUDIOS (DENMARK) and the sound is really excellent and enormous !
This album is much more mature than the past.

11.- How was the expirience recording your DVD “666 Thrashened Extreme Music”?
-The DVD was released to celebrate 10 years of career and we add 90 mn of live assault + 40 mn with us on the road + a studio report in Denmark ! a lot of drunk moments ! héhé.

12.- In one of this festival the people is really really fucking crazy, “Hell Fest Open Air” or “Metal Mean Fest”?
-HELLFEST OPEN AIR with a fuckin' killer audience !

13.- How do you make contact with Dew-Scented to make this tour with them and Severe Torture?
-I know Leif from DEW-SCENTED since many years ! They are good friends and it is a killer band ! Listen them !!! I know SEVERE TORTURE too so it was an idea to tour together.

14.- Well we hope see you someday in Mexico, anything to say?
-It would be a dream to come and play in your country !

Moñigo Interview (Spanish)

Hoy entregamos la entrevista con MoÑigo banda Gore de España, realizada por FelixXX Corpse.
In a few days we´ll have the interview in English with this Gore band from Spain, Moñigo.

1.-¿De donde es que surge en nombre “Moñigo” que se significa?
-Pues moñigo significa el zurullo...lo que defecamos, lo que se come nuestra amiga japonesa en la portada de la copromo.
Queríamos hacer algo obsceno, pero sin caer en el gore de siempre y defecar es lo mas normal del mundo, un tema tabu, pero que si falla, causa la muerte o cosas peores…
Además se crean situaciones muy peliagudas y divertidas en torno a "cagar"

2.- (risas) Excelente...¿como es que se formo moñigo, en que año, habían estado anteriormente tocando en otras bandas alguno de ustedes?
-Moñigo lo creamos oficialmente, con el primer ensayo en enero de 2005. Lo teniamos planeado desde hace tiempo pero nunca dimos el gran paso. Anteriormente, hace unos 5 años edu (vocal) y yo (guitarro) montamos putrefaccion vaginal, pero duro muy poco, mas tarde yo seguí tocando la batería en diversos grupos de death metal locales, actualmente edu esta en varios proyectos extremos.

3.- ¿Cual es su visión como banda, a que quieren llegar, que es lo que quieren lograr?
-Pues realmente hemos conseguido muchísimo mas de lo que nunca hubiéramos imaginado, edu y yo simplemente queríamos hacer un proyecto para divertirnos y rendir nuestro pequeño tributo a la música que nos gusta, pensando que seria solo para moverlo entre amigos y a nivel local.... pero las cosas empezaron a crecer y es realmente brutal, sobre todo saber que los propios mortician han escuchado nuestra humilde versión de zombie apocalypse.

4.- Si es muy bueno ese cover, creeme que nos pone a bailar a muchos xD y díganme ¿que tal las presentaciones en vivo, tocan muy seguido, tienen planes de gira, como los recibe la gente?
-Pues actualmente solo hemos dado 7 conciertos, creíamos que jamás lo haríamos, pero han tenido muy buena acojida de la gente, aun somos unos novatos, pero intentamos hacerlo lo mejor que sabemos y transmitir brutalidad y mal olor !!!
Ahora nos han llamado para algunas fechas, pero los conciertos salen poco a poco, las giras aun las vemos muy lejanas..

5.-El copromo fue genial, ¿tienen algún otro proyecto en puerta?
-Si, ahora se envió el master a ecuador donde se hará el split con EL MUERMO y MIXOMATOSIS, quedara un cd con mucho grind.

6.- Pues a esperarlo con ansias… ¿y en cuanto a la voz usan algún tipo de distorcionador, algún PIT SHIFTER?
-Noooooooo! solo para las partes que hacemos a propósito, pero en si la voz es tal cual suena, en directo se puede comprobar.

7.-Vaya que voz, es como si fuera de un jodido toilet cuando le bajas jajaja xD
-Siiiiiiii, es genial…

8.- Dime ¿que opinan de las drogas y el alcohol?
-Personalmente yo solo bebo y fumo algo de cannabis, Edu es un fumador profesional, pero bebe menos, en cuanto a cocaína si, la hemos probado, y tal, yo personalmente, apenas la he consumido en 2 o 3 ocasiones pero por amigos cercanos, veo los efectos negativos que contraer y prefiero no tocarla.

9.- Si brothers es mejor mantenerse alejado, si no los dejara locos y no podrán crear más copropornogoregrind jajaja...
-Jajajajjaj, pero gracias al hachis (polen de la marihuana) y la maria (marihuana), si hemos creado algunas buenas cosas.

10.- Jajaja ¿Cuales son o fueron sus principales influencias para crear esta excelente y defecosa banda?
-Mortician, CBT, Impetigo, Haemorrage, Dead Infection, Rompeprop..... Aunque somos grandes fanáticos de bandas como Vital Remains, Deeds of Flesh, Dying Fetus, Morbid Angel... mucho brutal death y grind.

11.- Bien… qué opinan del intercambio de material a tavés de foros y
servidores de archivos, ¿están de acuerdo con eso?
-Pues desde nuestro punto de vista personal, lo vemos positivo, ya que puedes descubrir muchas cosas que no se consiguen en el mercado tradicional, es una promoción brutal y con poco gasto, veo muchos mas puntos positivos a favor del grupo y de la música que negativos (como mucho intentan hacer creer)

12.- ¿Como surge cada canción, sus letras, que ideología encienden, quien es el que las escribe?
-Pues es muy variado, unas traen edu una letra, la hacemos algunos cambios y apartir de ahí vamos creando la música como podemos. En otras primero creamos ideas y después adaptamos las letras. Y en algunas pocas como lucha interior o fonda olorosa(nueva), yo hago la letra y la música, las letras van desde bizarrísimo y porno coprófago, hasta verdaderas experiencias o situaciones que surgen por que estas estreñido o algo relacionado con el estomago...quien no ha tenido su ojete escocido alguna vez??? (risas)

13.- Jajaja es verdad xD y díganme en la canciones 1(lucha interior) y 5(eres la elegida) ¿de donde surgieron estos intros tan cagaleros jaja? Ah!! Y por cierto también en la canción 7 ¿que demonios significan estas iniciales C.S.D.C?
-Bueno el la de lucha interior surgió de la película scary movie 2 jajaja y en la de eres la elegida esa esta sacada de la película "no es otra estupida película americana" y las iniciales C.S.D.C se ignifican COPROFAGO SEXUAL DEFICIENCIA CEREBRAL.

14.- Jajaja y cuéntenme ¿como es un día normal en la vida de cada uno de los integrantes, son padres de familia ya, trabajan o solo se dedican a la música?
-Jaja que vaaaa, aun somos muy jóvenes, pues por ejemplo Edu(cantante) es fontanero, trabaja con su padre y creo que de reparar w.c saca esas ideas enfermizas y bizarras es "el fontanero asesino" (risas).
Sergio(bajista) acaba de terminar su carrera de psicología, así que pronto estará "ayudando" a futuros psicópatas...tengan cuidado con las terapias!!! Además estuvo trabajando de celadro en un hospital, creo que en algo de enfermedades terminales y siempre nos cuenta unas historias...que superan cualquier tema de carcass o disgorge
Yo actualmente soy técnico de sonido en paro y estoy haciendo cursos de edición de video digital, espero poder trabajar en el mundo audiovisual (pelis porno, snuff,lo que sea XD), pero todos sacamos tiempo para defecar nuevos temas y dar rienda suelta a nuestras depravaciones.

15.- Jaja eso es bueno… tienen planes para hacer algún video o algún DVD por que lo que hemos visto todos solo son esos videos caseros en youtube como el de ogt escondido y el de eres la elegida, donde siempre me pregunte de que se reían tu y edu al inicio del video xD que fue en un cuarto o en un baño, por cierto muy originales e jajaja xD
-Jajajaj exacto, es una habitación de mi casa, hay tengo montado mi pequeño home studio y es donde ensayamos; y por lo de las risas fue por los gestos de edu con las muñekeras como un tipo duro jajajaja , ese video le hice con mi cámara de fotos digital y editado con el programa del propio Windows jajaja mucho antes de saber que luego existiría youtuve y alguien podría verlo jajajaj era solo para amigos y en cuanto a videos, realmente nos gustaría hacer un video bien producido, pero es caro, así que intentaremos hacerlo por nuestros propios medios ahora queremos hacer uno realmente brutal, mira hay un tema nuevo, bueno que se puede ver en vivo en youtuve FONDA OLOROSA, que lo escribí como tributo de la película BLOOD DINNER (fonda sangrienta) que trata de una restaurante un tanto "especial" que la comida esta toda hecha con mierda y luego se transforman en zombies flatulentos tras un ritual, de ahí queremos hacer un video muy underground, muy serie b, tipo troma

16.- Estaría genial, ¿conocen bandas mexicanas acá de goregrind, que les parece la escena mexicana?
-Pues así la que mas escuchamos es CARNE, Semen, también Oxidiced Razor, aunque en el myspace descubrimos muchas bandas geniales como Lord Piggy, nos encanta su escena…
Ahora que mencionaste si conocía bandas de allá, me gustaría saber como consiguen que todas esas chicas se hagan fotos con sus logos en los pechos y traseros? Jajajajajaj es algo que llevamos buscando tiempo, pero nadie se ofrece XDDD pensamos en hacer un montaje xD.

17.- Jajajajaja pues aquí hay niñas que aman el goregrind, pornogore y todo eso así que no dudo que ellas solas se ofrezcan para que les hagan bukkake y cuanta pendejada xD
-Si? Jajajajaja, como me encanta su escena XD, aquí en españa, apenas la gente sabe que es el gore grind, ajajaja no creas que se liga a chicas diciendo que haces gore grind XDD, acá son muy serias pero entonces a México abra que ir de gira como sea jajajaja, incluso tuve una "amiga" mexicana en mi messenger y una vez me enseño los pechos por la cámara, jajaj pero solo eso..

18.- Por acá el movimiento gore esta chingon jejeeje si estaría genial que se aparecieran por acá kabrones!!, oye brother y ¿como cuanto cobran por evento o como esta eso?
-Pues si implica un desplazamiento pedimos mas o menos lo estimado en gasolina o transporte, hospedaje, comida y por el show en si, apenas pedimos en un concierto con otras bandas, aparte de pagar la sala entre todos y demás, apenas nos dieron 33 €(unos 24 dólares) a cada banda.

19.- ¿Tan poquito?
-Aquí el Metal extremo....es muy muy underground en ese sentido, mira, en este concierto que estaremos con general surgery y haemorrhage ya nos han avisado de que seguramente no nos den nada de dinero, lo bueno que nosotros no hemos organizado nada, estamos en nuestra ciudad y nos darán cerveza y demás, si hay beneficios, algo se repartirá, pero bueno en este caso para nosotros es un honor tocar.

20.- Wow que krabron Haemorrhage, bueno los de Haemorrhage también son de ahí de España, supongo que deben ser súper bueno camaradas, son bandas muy reconocidas al igual que ustedes, bueno acá en México los tenemos muy en alto.
-Jeje tenemos buen trato con el batería de Haemorrhage aunque es diferente ellos todos tienen mas de 30 años...nosotros somos casi 10 años mas jóvenes y en cuanto a lo que me comentas de que aLLa en México somos reconocidos, creeme que hasta que no lo vea, no soy capaz de creerlo xD.

21.- Bueno, por ultimo ¿algo adicional que quieras agregar para todos nuestros lectores de OBLITERACION?
-Pues dar las gracias por todas las buenas criticas y mensajes que nos hacen llegar desde allí, realmente nos alegra mucho saber que hay tantos amantes de la coprofagia!!!!!!!! Esperamos algún día poder ofrecer conciertos allí. Comentar que pronto saldrá nuevo material en un split con EL MUERMO y MIXOMATOSIS y esperamos seguir ofreciéndoles videos y material para su perverso consumo.
